THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In two separate incidents, Valiyathura Police arrested two people for selling tobacco products.
In the first case, a man was arrested for selling tobacco products near school premises. The accused has been identified as Varghese, 60, of Sulaiman Teruvu near Valiyathura. He had been selling tobacco products near St Antony’s School at FCA Junction. In the second incident, Nafeesa Beevi, 63, of Balanagar, was arrested for selling gutka products near Vettucaud Church. Both were released on bail.
Woman’s Body Found Hanging
A 58-year-old woman was found hanging from the ceiling of her house in Eerattil, near Pallickal. The deceased, Bhasura, was found by her daughter at 6 am on Thursday. According to the police, Bhasura was suffering from depression.
Man Falls into Well, Dies
The body of a 58-year-old man was found in an open well in Veeranakavu near Kattakada on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Ramachandran Nair.
According to the police, Ramachandran, an alcoholic, had quarrelled with his family and left home on Thursday. He was drunk when he left home, the police said. He might have fallen asleep and then fell into the well accidentally. He is survived by wife and two children.
