Dist Schools Excel in CBSE XII Results

It seemed to be raining distinctions in schools across the district on Monday, when the results for CBSE’s All-India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for Class XII were announced.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It seemed to be raining distinctions in schools across the district on Monday, when the results for CBSE’s All-India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for Class XII were announced.

All the well-known CBSE schools boasted of “excellent results” with many of them scoring hundred per cent pass.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, for example, had all but one of its 312 students who appeared for the exam pass. Sixty-three students scored above 90 per cent while 188 students achieved distinction with over 75 per cent marks.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Akkulam, registered a 97.58 pass percentage. Of the 83 that appeared, 81 passed, and 18 got over 90 per cent. Divya P B (95.4 per cent) and Jeffrey Justin (95.2 per cent) were the school toppers in Science and Commerce streams respectively.

Holy Angels’ CBSE School, Vanchiyoor, secured a cent per cent pass in the Science stream with all its 49 students passing. 37 of them scored distinction with Saadia S (96.2 percent) and Parveen Sultana (95.4 percent) the school toppers in the Computer and Biology groups respectively. Of the 11 students who sat for the exam in the Commerce stream, five achieved distinction. Megha MG was the topper in this stream with 90.4 percent.

St Mary’s Residential Central School, Poojappura also had a full pass with 81 per cent distinction and 19 per cent first class. Lekshmi Suresh was the top scorer with 96.4 per cent.

From Arya Central School, Pattom, 263 students had written the exam from the Science stream  of which 81 students scored above 90 percent.

Of the 36 students in the Commerce stream, eight scored above 90 per cent while 19 got distinction. Aditya Jayarajan (97.8 per cent) was the topper in Science while Shanu Gupta (95.8 per cent) topped in Commerce.

All 398 students from Saraswathi Vidyalaya, Vattiyoorkavu, passed with 282 distinctions and 51 scored above 90 per cent. The school toppers are Anjali N (96.6 per cent), Sharika R (95.8 per cent) and Reshma L (95.2 per cent) in Science, Commerce and Humanity streams respectively.

St Thomas Central School, Mukkolakkal, also registered a cent percent pass with its 298 students.

Roshan Mohammed S (97.8 per cent), S Shahid Abdul Majid (97 per cent), and Lekshmi M (96.2 per cent) and Nanda Joylal (96.2 per cent) were the top scorers in Science, Commerce and Humanity streams respectively.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Kodunganoor, got a 97 per cent pass with 61 distinctions. Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallom saw 111 of the 153 students who appeared for the exam secure a distinction. Megha Mohan, Arundhati Krishna and Vibhu Vinod were the school toppers in Computer, Biology and Commerce streams.

Schools from beyond the city limits also secured high scores.

The Dr GR Public School, Neyyattinkara had a cent percent success with all its 76 students passing the exam. Of these, 38 scored distinction.

From Viswabharathy Public School, Neyyattinkara, 53 of the 74 who appeared for the exam got distinction. Poornima A P and Abhed V are the school toppers.

Nineteen of the 45 students of Sivagiri Sree Narayana Senior Secondary School, Varkala, got distinction. Suhail Ishack is the school topper with 96.8 per cent.

Kairali Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Nedumangad registered a cent per cent pass in Commerce and 98 per cent pass in Science. In Bluemount School, Thonnackal, 38 sat for the exam. Seven got above 87 per cent while six got distinction. From School of the Good Shepherd, Sreekaryam, 17 of the 74 who appeared scored distinction.

Bishop Pereira Memorial School, Karamoodu, also recorded cent per cent pass. Of the 31 students who appeared for the examination, eight students got distinction and 17 first class. Harigovind D was the school topper with 92.2 per cent.

“The compiled list of results of the AISSCE 2014 at the state-level would only be available on Tuesday morning,” officials at the CBSE regional office here said.
