Toppers in Orphanage Feted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The inmates of the Ananda Nilayam Orphanage and Widow’s Home at Kuriyathi who cleared the SSLC and plus-two examination were felicitated at a function held at the orphanage.

 K Mahadevan, president, Karma Socio-cultural organisation, Valyasala inaugurated the programme and distributed prizes to the students.

Teachers who helped the children to score well were also honoured. Kerala Hindi Prachar Sabha secretary N Madhavan Kutty Nair presided over the function. Kuriyathi Sasi, secretary of the orphanage, and office-bearers of residents’ associations attended the function.

Ananda Nilayam accommodates nearly 50 destitute children and six women.
