THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: This week, the Women’s Cell witnessed the happy reunion of a Marathi minor girl with her family.
When the police found Arathi on May 22, she was wandering on the Uppidamoodu bridge. She was unable to relate to the officers where she had come from or what had left her shell-shocked.
Meanwhile, in Maharashtra, her father had registered a missing case. According to the personnel at the Women’s Cell, Arathi was travelling with her mother in a train. On May 16, she had alighted at a station for some purpose and then entered the wrong train which took her all the way to Kerala.
At the Women’s Cell, after several hours of patient enquiries, Arathi could finally remember her father Baswaraj’s number. Her parents are now in the city and are looking forward to taking her back home. ENS
