THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case has been registered against a contractor in Maranalloor for selling sand illegally.
The accused contractor has been identified as Satheesh of Kamukincode.
“The Maranalloor Panchayat committee had assigned Satheesh for making a cemetery in a land near the Maranalloor Police Station. “The complainant, the panchayat secretary, told us that Satheesh carted away sand from this land, so that he can sell it,” a police official said here.
The Maranalloor Panchayat committee members had told him that the sand should be kept aside to be used later for laying roads in Maranalloor panchayat, the police official said.
