THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The Poonthura police on Monday arrested three persons in connection with the stabbing of a jeweller to death at Parythikuzhy. The accused are Kaif,30 , Suhair, 24 and Riyaz, 22, all residents of Paruthikuzhy. According to the police, five more persons were still at large and they would be nabbed soon.
“The key accused who had stabbed Mohammed Shah is Kaif. He is the son of Subair who had borrowed Rs 1,25,000 from Shah. Subair had assured Shah that the amount would be repaid within a week. But Subair failed to pay the money.
Shah and some staff reached Subair’s residence seeking the money on Saturday and entered into an argument. The staff of the jewellery were sitting inside the car. Apparently, Subair called his son through phone saying that he and his wife were man-handled by Shah and team.
Following that, an eight-member team led by Kaif arrived at the spot with knifes and stabbed Mohammed Shah and Nizar. All the accused fled the spot immediately after the incident.
