THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Despite an earlier forecast by the Met Department of heavy rain, the southwest monsoon remained weak over the state with the maximum rainfall of 2 cm recorded in some places.
Kumarakom (in Kottayam district) Parambikulam (in Palakkad district), Kudlu (in Kasargod district) and Kollam were the places which recorded 2 cm of rain on Monday.
The heavy rainfall warning that was issued last week for Monday and Tuesday was also withdrawn by the IMD in its daily weather bulletin.
Though no specific weather warning has been issued till June 19, a fishermen warning has been issued till Tuesday afternoon.
