

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations, Government Polytechnic College, Neyyattinkara, is organising TEXPO@25, an exhibition on it’s campus.
Scientific exhibits by the students from the polytechnic college as well as other colleges from the city were put on display at the exhibition. Engineering and medical colleges from across the district participated in the exhibition.
The exhibition cum mela showcased a variety of projects developed by the students which included a tricycle that has a reverse gear, car running on solar power, automatic cooking gas regulator to avoid gas-related mishaps and more. Different varieties of seeds and similar products also feature among the display.
The Agricultural Department, Forest Department, Keltron, Thiruvananthapuram zoo are among the other departments taking part in the exhibition.
A book fair and a painting exhibition is also being held on the premises. An exhibition of paintings and cartoons was organised by cartoonist Hari Charutha. A community mela, magic show and a children’s park to entertain the young visitors to the venue were among the rest of the attractions.
Dr Kuncheria P Isaac, Vice Chancellor, Kerala Technological University, inaugurated the exhibition. Director of Technical Education Dr K Vijayakumar presided over the event. College principal Shailendran welcomed the gathering and TEXPO convener Manoharan R proposed the vote of thanks.
The exhibition which commenced on June 13, will be on till June 20.
