Govt Springs into Action

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has said that all arrangements have been made to tackle outbreak of any contagious disease during the monsoon season and asked the officials to undertake all health-related activities in a time-bound manner.

The directions were given to officials during a meeting convened here for evaluating the works done till now as part of epidemic control. In the meeting, Health Minister V S  Sivakmar said all government hospitals in the state had good stock of the medicines, including the drug for H1N1.

The meeting also entrusted Ayush secretary Dr M Beena to coordinate the activities with other departments.

It was decided to convene district level meetings on June 20 under the aegis of Modern medicine, Ayurveda and Homeo departments.  MLAs, MPs, district panchayat president, district collector and officials from various departments will participate in the meeting. The meeting at the Corporation, municipality and grama panchayat levels will begin on June 22.
