THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A goon was re-arrested on Sunday under Kerala Anti-Social Activities and Prevention Act(KAAPA) by Sreekaryam Police for allegedly engaging anti-social activities after being released from six months of preventive detention. The accused identified as Deepu S Kumar,33, is a resident of Bappuji Nagar at Pongumoodu.
According to police officials, the accused was nabbed after he created a ruckus and endangered lives by waving a sword at Bappuji Nagar. He also manhandled a resident.
“The accused is a trouble maker and several cases have been registered against him at various police stations in the city. However, we are taking steps to detain him again under preventive detention. The arrested person has been remanded in the judicial custody for 14 days,” a police official said.
