THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Hindu Aikya Vedi will organise a secretariat dharna on June 24 against the state government’s anti-tribal attitude, Vedi functionaries said here on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference, they said that the dharna has been called raising various demands, including the expulsion of those who have secured jobs trough PSC recruitment by producing fake caste certificate, issuance of a white report on the use of SC/ST fund, allotment of land to the workers of the Arippa land agitation and granting of Rs 1,000 as minimum amount for Lump Sum Grant. KPMS state organising secretary C O Rajan, Viswakarma Sabha state president M Sukumaran Achary, Thandan Service Society state general secretary Pachalloor Sreenivasan, Chakkala samudaya Sangham state general secretary T Mohandas, Kerala Paravar Service Society state president A Thulasidharan, Hindu Aikya Vedi state committee member K Prabhakaran attended the press meet. They alleged that 1,800 people had secured government job by producing fake caste certificates. They pointed out that 100 crore was lost as ST fund last year. In the 9th and 10th five year plans, a whopping 600 cr each got lapsed. While monopolists and Plantation owners were holding lakhs of acres of land under their possession, thousands of people were struggling to get a slice of land for setting up their dwellings, they alleged. KPMS state president N K Neelakandan Master will inaugurate the dharna.
