Promising Subsidies for Hi-tech Farming

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:It is raining subsidies for hi-tech farming with a subsidy of 75 per cent made available for setting up  ‘Naturally Ventilated Tubular Structure Polyhouses’.

In addition, the State Horticulture Mission is offering subsidies to those who are willing to turn to micro-irrigation. Farmers, farmers’ collectives, clusters and non-government organisations can apply.

The polyhouses will be set up as part of Hitech Farming Project. Micro-irrigation, which involves the use of drip or sprinkler irrigation, will be implemented as part of ‘On farm water management micro-irrigation components’ project.

The last date for submitting applications is August 31.
