Pillai Abusing Valakom Couple: VS Writes to CM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan  has written to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy alleging that Kerala Congress (B) leader R Balakrishna Pillai was needlessly harassing R Krishnakumar, the teacher of RVVHS, Valakom, and his wife and headmistress of the school, K R Geetha.

Achuthanandan’s letter has come at a time when Balakrishna Pillai and his son and MLA K B Ganesh Kumar have forged ties with the LDF.

In his letter, Achuthanandan has demanded Chandy’s help to put an end to the harassment.

Achuthanandan has also asked the government to provide protection for Krishnakumar and his family. (Balakrishna Pillai is the manager of the school.)

“Geetha has been suspended without any reason. Months have passed since the High Court ordered that she be reinstated within 14 days. ‘Manager Balakrishna Pillai’ has also not deigned to obey the order issued by the government in this regard,” Achuthanandan said.

He said Krishnakumar has been slapped with a memo saying that his degree is fake.

“Balakrishna Pillai is trying to destroy the poor teacher couple and their family using his clout as Kerala Cong (B) leader and former minister,” Achuthanandan said.

It was Balakrishna Pillai himself who appointed Krishnakumar as teacher in 1992, he said.

Then in 2011, Pillai lodged a complaint with the Vigilance, with the connivance, alleging that his degree was a fake one. But the Vigilance had proved his certificate was above board. But the harassment continues, he said. Krishnakumar, who escaped an attempt on his life earlier, has not regained full health, Achuthanandan said.
