THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has urged the State Bank of Travancore to withdraw from the move to hand over the student loan NPA to Reliance.
“It is learnt that the SBT has entered into an agreement with Reliance to retrieve the pending `128 crore for a charge of `62 crore. A multi-core bribe is suspected in the agreement,” Achuthanandan said in a statement here on Wednesday.
“While banks can collect the NPA through legal procedures the decision to assign it to a corporate is aimed at corruption. The SBT should withdraw from the move,” he said.
Achuthanandan said that the state government was turning a blind eye to the the protests at the SBT headquarters against the proposed move.
