Man Rapes 13-year-old Daughter in Kerala

The Aryanad Police arrested a 40-year-old man on charges of raping his 13- year-old daughter.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Aryanad Police on Sunday arrested a 40-year-old man on charges of raping his 13- year-old daughter.

The accused has been identified as Shaju of Malayadi near Aryanad.

According to the police, the crime occurred on July 26 and preceding days at the residence of the accused. The mother of the victim was unaware of the incident and she only came to know after the girl told her recently. The mother then took her to a doctor and affirmed the crime. She lodged a complaint and the accused was taken into custody on Saturday night. The accused is in judicial custody for two weeks,” a police official said.

One Arrested for Abusing Teacher

The Venjaramood police on Sunday  arrested a 33-year-old man for allegedly abusing a teacher on the school premises.

The accused person has been identified as Riyas of Pullampara near Venjaramood. According to the police, the incident occurred at Govt LPS, Mukkudil near Venjaramood a few days ago when the accused barged into the classroom where 40-year-old Reena was taking classes and threatened her in front of the students. However, with the immediate intervention of the school authorities, the accused fled from the spot. 

“Reena lodged a complaint with the police.

It is learnt that the accused and Reena had personal enmity. The accused has been produced before the magistrate and remanded in judicial custody,” a police official said.

‘Beggar’ Held for Selling Ganja

The Kadinamkulam police on Sunday arrested a 62-year-old man for allegedly selling ganja in the guise of a beggar.

The accused has been identified as Mururgan, a resident of Punarathivasa colony, Nedumangad. Murugan was nabbed near the Matsya Thozhilali Kshema Bhavan at Marian Nagar following a tip-off.

He was spotted at different places to sell ganja to the needy in the guise of a beggar.

On Sunday he was caught while selling nine grams of ganja to a youngster. It is learnt that the accused was in the business for over a decade.

Murugan will be produced before the magistrate on Monday, police said.
