THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Commercial Taxes Department has launched a Facebook page, facebook.com/postbillshere, where the public can upload bills of all tax-applicable items. Finance Minister K M Mani, who launched the page, said the new initiative aims to encourage the public to demand bills and also to ensure the authenticity of the bills. The Facebook page will also serve to ensure tax revenue to the government, Mani said. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Rajan N Khobragade were present on the occasion.
