Traffic Rules to be Implemented Strictly in Thiruvananthapuram

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala  said that people would be made more aware of traffic rules so that they had a safe journey.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala  said on Friday that people would be made more aware of traffic rules so that they had a safe journey (Subha Yatra). In the wake of the increasing number of human casualties in road mishaps, traffic rules would be implemented strictly, he said after receiving Rs 10 lakh from the Believers Church Medical College for the ‘Subha Yatra’ programme.

The government has envisaged the Subha Yatra programme to check road accidents by strictly implementing traffic rules. He said that cameras would be installed in all important thoroughfares to check speeding.Chennithala also mentioned that the help of all voluntary organisations would be received for the programme. 

The traffic police would be given the most modern gadgetry to enforce traffic rules. Speed radars would also be provided to all the police stations in the state as part of the programme.
