Painting Exhibition at AICUF Centre

HIRUVANANTHAPURAM:Paintings by school children along with a few political cartoons, by cartoonist Haku, Hari Charutha and others, have been exhibited at the AICUF centre in the city. The exhibition organised by Sahithy in association with Lions Club International Zone 11, Region 3, Sector 5, Dist 318A and Gandhi Darsan Samithi has showcased paintings by selected students from various schools in the city as part of Vara Utsav 2015, a painting competition conducted as part of the Onam celebrations. The event was inaugurated by MLA Palode Ravi. 

The exhibition will conclude on Saturday. Artworks of around ten students were displayed along with a number of political cartoons at the venue. The prizes for the winners will be distributed at an event on September 4. The best student artist from each school will be honoured, while the school which ensures participation of the maximum percentage of students  will be eligible for special recognition and the ‘Maveli Ever Rolling Trophy’. Schools with a participation of a minimum of 100 students will qualify for special mention.
