KWA HR Staff Protest Govt's Apathy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The state government and the Kerala Water Authority are meting out injustice to the HR staff at the office, Congress leader T Sarath Chandra Prasad said. He was speaking after inaugurating a protest dharna organised by the HR staff in front of the Secretariat on Thursday.

“KWA is employing the HR staff without maintaining proper records and without keeping vouchers for salary payment which are against the prevailing rules,” he said.

Water Authority HR Employees Congress state president A Raheemkutty who presided over the meeting said that the HR staff and their family members will send one lakh letters to the Chief Minister, Finance and Water Resources ministers seeking a solution for their grievances.

The protestors demanded the government and  KWA to implement the salary hike of `631, to issue the salary arrears and implement ESI and PF.

INTUC state vice-president Subodhan, association leaders Vinoy John, KP Kumaran, KG Kumara Pillai, A Sasikumar, B Sugathan, Kaviyoor Anilkumar and S Varghese spoke.
