THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism and Culture Mahesh Sharma on Sunday said that steps would be taken to promote the vision of Sree Narayana Guru.

Addressing the Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti celebrations at the Chempazhanthy Gurukulam, Mahesh Sharma promised steps in that regard after discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The teachings of Sree Narayana Guru offered a solution to the problems faced by the world and such teachings should not be confined to Kerala alone, he said.

The Union Culture Ministry would take steps to promote his teachings across the country, he said. Sree Narayana Guru had strived for the uplift of Kerala society by making the people understand the importance of education. But it should be studied whether his teachings had received due importance, he said. Mayor K Chandrika, Swamy Aroopananda and BJP state president V Muraleedharan were also present.
