THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has launched the online facility to apply for education loans.

This is facilitated by integrating the technology platform of SBT with the ‘Vidyalakshmi’ portal hosted by the Government of India through NSDL.

‘Vidyalakshmi’ offers single window access to information and facilities to apply for educational loans provided by banks and also avail themselves of scholarships payable by the government.

The facility enables the students to apply, track and get the feedback or responses from the bank. Students have to scan and upload the documents required under the respective scheme.

After receiving the application, the student will be invited for personal interaction and further steps will be taken.

The site provides information on educational loan schemes of all banks, facility for students to email queries or grievances relating to educational loans to banks, linkage to national scholarship portal for information and application for government scholarships.
