Himalaya Rishi Sangamam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The third edition of the  Himalaya Rishi sangamam started here at Vyloppilly Sanskrithi Bhavan with the introduction of the Chandogya Upanishad by Swami Haribrahmendrananda, Acharya of the Adi Sankara Brahmavidya peetom, Utharkashi. He said the first five chapters of this upanishad dealt mainly with upasanas, and the sixth, seventh and eighth chapters with knowledge about the self. He also talked about the story of Ushastha who, when faced by famine, begged and and went to the king with black gram and argued with the Brahmins entrusted by the king for performing the yajna.

Swami Medhanandapuri delivered a lecture on  the necessity of a teacher in the spiritual field and how one can differentiate a true  guru and a fake one.
