THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An anti-corruption court here has adjourned the hearing on the petition filed against the investigation report of Vigilance acquitting former finance minister K  M Mani on his alleged involvement in the bar bribery case to April 16.

The case was postponed after some petitioners sought more time on Saturday to file the affidavit against the acquittal of Mani in the case. Following this, the judge Justice John K Illikkadan granted one and half months time for filing the affidavit.

V S Sunil Kumar MLA of CPI, BJP leader V Muraleedharan and  Noble Mathew were the three petitioners. The case was considered by the court after a section of people, including the Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan, approached the court objecting the probe report submitted by SP Sukeshan which had given a clean chit to Mani.

In the investigation report, Sukeshan cited that there was no proof to prosecute Mani or to prove that he had taken bribe from the bar owners.
