V S Sunil Kumar MLA of CPI, BJP leader V Muraleedharan and  Noble Mathew were the three petitioners. The case was considered by the court after a section of people, including the Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan, approached the court objecting the probe report submitted by SP Sukeshan which had given a clean chit to Mani.
