Man Killed as Bike Hits Electric Post in Thiruvananthapuram

A38-year-old man was killed after the bike he was riding rammed into an electric post at Arattuvazhi, near Kazhakkoottam here, on Sunday. The Kazhakkoottam police have registered a case in connection with the incident.  The police identified the victim as Santhosh, son of Sivadasan, belonging to Kadinamkulam. According to the police, the accident occurred around 12.30 noon on a bylane near St Andrews Junction when Santhosh was proceeding to his residence. When he reached Arattuvazhi, the bike lost control and rammed into the electric post made of concrete. Santhosh fell down from the bike and suffered a serious injury on his head as he was not wearing a helmet. Though  passersby took him to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.  The body has been handed over to  relatives after an autopsy, police said.
