Two Youths Die in Mishap

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Two youths died in an accident after the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a tourist bus on the MC road stretch at Thattathumala near Kilimanoor on Tuesday evening. The deceased are Sandeep, 23, and Arun Raj, 23. Both are natives of Ponganad, near Kilimanoor. Three other passengers in the car were also injured during the collision and they were taken to the Medical College Hospital.

 The Kilimanoor police have registered a case in connection with the incident. According to the police, the accident occurred around 5 pm when the car carrying four persons was travelling to Kilimanoor from Thattathumala. When the bus heading to Thiruvananthapuram reached Thattathumala, the speeding car lost control and swerved into the opposite lane, ensuing in a head-on collision.

Though the passers-by took the injured to the nearby hospital, Sandeep was declared dead on arrival. Arun Raj succumbed to injuries a few hours later at the hospital. The bodies of Sandeep and Arun Raj will be handed over to relatives after autopsy.
