THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Underlining the need for a united fight against the persistent bid by anti-democratic and fascist forces to stifle journalists, Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) has exhorted the media fraternity and general public to put up strident resistance against such forces.
Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, KUWJ general secretary C Narayanan said majority of those who had made derogatory remarks against journalist Sindhu Sooryakumar acted solely on hearsay.
“The trend of presenting inflated fallacies as facts is on the rise.
“People pass off lies as undisputed convictions.
Unfortunately a congenial climate is prevailing in the state to unleash misinformation campaign,”he said.
