False Sexual Abuse Case: Probe Ordered

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  City Police Commissioner G Sparjan Kumar on Monday ordered the City Crime Detachment Wing to carry out the investigation into the false sexual harassment case filed against L S Sibu, an Air India official based at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.  The move from the police comes after Sibu had filed a complaint with the Commissioner saying that he was not happy with the investigation carried out by the Valiyathura police who were previously in charge of the case.  The Crime Branch had last week termed the sexual harassment case against Sibu as false after finding out that 16 signatures in the complaint filed by 17 women staff of Air India were forged and asked the Kerala state police chief to register a case for forging false complaint and to probe the matter.

The Crime Branch found the complaint filed by Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) association was to exact revenge on Sibu who complained before the CBI and Central Vigilance Commission about the irregularities in awarding the contract for ground handling to AISATS by Air India without fulfilling required formalities.
