THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Election Commission has constituted flying squads, static surveillance teams and media certification and monitoring committees to check enticement of voters through gifts and to scrutinise the spending of political parties in the upcoming Assembly polls.
Flying squads will seize unaccounted money and articles suspected to be distributed among voters. Executive Magistrates have been appointed to accompany the flying squads.
Since such flying squads will be active in all constituencies, the public have been advised to carry proper records of source for the money in their possession. If such seized money is not found to be distributed for election purpose, it will be given back on production of proper documents. A committee comprising of District Panchayat Secretary, Deputy Collector (Election) and District Treasury Officer have been constituted at the district level to take appropriate action.
