Kovalam MLA M Vincent gets bail in Bevco case

M Vincent MLA, who is in judicial remand in a  rape case, got bail on Thursday in another case, for destroying public property.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: M Vincent MLA, who is in judicial remand in a  rape case, got bail on Thursday in another case, for destroying public property.

Neyyattinkara Judicial First Class Magistrate granted bail to the legislator in a case registered for destroying public property during an agitation against a Bevco outlet at Balaramapuram.

Vincent was arrested on July 22 for allegedly raping his neighbour. The District Sessions Judge will pronounce a decision on his bail plea in this case on August 7.

Police recorded Vincent’s arrest in the Bevco attack case seven days after he was jailed in the rape case.
His remand report was submitted to the court on Wednesday following which he was sent to judicial custody.

The legislator’s bail plea in this case said the total damages reported in the agitation which took place three months ago was only Rs 2000.
