Clean-up drive continues in BJP Kerala unit; Five more axed

The BJP state unit is said to have initiated action against five more party leaders in the wake of corruption charges.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  The BJP state unit is said to have initiated action against five more party leaders in the wake of corruption charges. Unconfirmed reports said the party’s State IT cell convener Jyothish Kumar; state committee members M Mohanan and T A Narayanan; BJP Kozhikode zone secretary M P Rajan and its Malappuram district general secretary Rashmilath have been divested of their posts.

Jyothish was removed from the post following a complaint from V V Rajesh. Rajesh had alleged BJP district president S Suresh and Jyothish were behind the smear campaign against him and they had put up a flex board against him.  Mohanan was removed from the post  in the wake of allegations of printing fake receipts. The Muralidharan faction had complained against state secretary V K Sajeevan and Mohanan. Muralidharan faction leaders M P Rajan and Rashmilath were removed from the posts following allegations of corruption.The action initiated against Yuva Morcha leader Praful Krishnan and M P Rajan  had triggered protest in the Kozhikode district committee meeting held the other day. A section of leaders said the action against Rajan was based on fake complaints from the CPM workers.
