THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tension prevailed in a private hospital here on Saturday after the relatives of a woman created ruckus at the hospital alleging medical negligence after she gave birth to a child with deformity. A woman hailing from Kuttichal was admitted to the hospital for delivery.
On Friday, she gave birth to a boy who had no right arm. Following this, the relatives, including the woman’s husband Vineesh and father-in-law Velayudhan Pillai, accused the hospital staffs of not disclosing the deformity of the child during pre-natal ultrasound scans.
He filed a complaint before medical college police alleging medical negligence on the part of the doctors. Though a group of people gathered at the hospital on Saturday demanding the arrest of the accused doctor, they were dispersed by the police.
