‘Kalam envisioned a green future’

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: “In his last address A P J Abdul Kalam exhorted us to create and protect a green and clean environment for the future generation,” said Meghalaya Assembly Speaker Abu Taher Mondal. He was planting a tree on the Dale View campus at Punalal, near here on the occasion of Kalam’s second death anniversary.

Abu Taher Mondal inaugurated the event while LPSC director S Somanath delivered the keynote address. Managing director of Kerala State Beverages Corporation H Venkitesh was the guest of honour. Somanath, who was also the project director of GSLV Mk-III was honoured at the event.
C Christu Das, founder and Chairman of Dale View Group of institutions, presided over. Pradeep Pillai, Trivandrum Press Club president, Dr Shaiju David Alfi, CEO, Kalam Smriti International, Deena Das, Trustee, Kalam Smriti International and Dr P Manojkumar, Principal, Dale View College of Pharmacy also spoke.Abu Taher Mondal and the other guests visited the Kalam Museum which was opened recently.
