THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:A 75-feet tall cutout of actor Mammootty has come up at the Sreekumar Theatre in the city ahead of the release of the Mollywood superstar’s much-anticipated movie ‘The Great Father’.

The cutout installed by the Mammootty Fans and Welfare Association International - Trivandrum and Forumkerala.com Mammootty Fans is claimed to be the biggest cutout for any Malayalam film star in size as well as cost.

“The display is 75 feet tall and cost close to Rs 1.5 lakh to print which is the largest cutout ever for a superstar,” said Thasneem Panoli of Forumkeralam.com Mammootty Fans. The previous record was held by a cutout of Mohanlal that promoted ‘Pulimurugan’, interestingly at the exact same spot.

The cutout was inaugurated on Wednesday by MLA V S Sivakumar and producer Shaji Nateshan who has produced the film along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Santosh Sivan and Arya under the banner of August Cinemas.

‘The Great Father’, directed by Haneef Adeni, has Mammootty essaying the role of David Ninan. The film will be released in theatres on Thursday.
