State gears up for police commemoration day

Police Commemoration Day will be observed with various programmes in all the 17 police districts in the state on October 21.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police Commemoration Day will be observed with various programmes in all the 17 police districts in the state on October 21. A communique from state police chief Loknath Behera said Commemoration Day parades will be held at the police headquarters in the state capital and in all district headquarters.

Blood donation camps will be held in association with Red Cross and Indian Medical Association. Painting, cartoon, slogan and essay contests will be conducted for students in the district level. State-level winners will be selected from the toppers in the district level and honoured.

Student police cadets will wear band paying tributes to martyrs in police force. Public meetings will be held by district police chiefs in association with clubs and voluntary organisations.Police Academy will conduct training classes for cadets to create awareness on the importance of the commemoration day. Behera has asked  district police chiefs to conduct diverse programmes to mark the occasion.
