VIJAYAWADA: Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar directed the officials to provide adequate irrigation water and to protect all crops in the drought-prone Anantapur district,During a review meeting with the officials of agriculture, irrigation and horticulture departments at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Wednesday, he said that water should be supplied through tankers apart from using rain guns for protecting the standing crops.
When the officials informed that 15 companies have come forward to supply irrigation water through rain guns in 49 mandals of Anantapur district, Kumar suggested the officials set up a call centre for receiving complaints from farmers and addressing issues like the need for irrigation water and for supplying water through tankers.
