VIJAYAWADA: In a freak accident, a 12-year-old boy died near Sishuvihar in the Satyanarayanapuram locality of Vijayawada on Tuesday morning. Ch Sri Harsha went to fetch milk on his bicycle. While returning home, a tree branch fell on him.
The broken end of the branch tore into his throat and the boy got entangled in the branch. He died on the spot.
Family members rushed to the spot on being alerted of the incident. The family has decided to donate the eyes of the victim.
Meanwhile, another 12-year-old boy Yanadi Rao died in Chirala in Prakasam district in early hours of Tuesday, when he was hit by a speeding car while crossing the road at Vadarevu Junction.
On impact boy got carried on the car bonnet for few yards, before he was flung aside on the road side.
His father and others rushed to the spot only to find the boy dead. Seeing his son die in front his eyes, Nagaraju broke down. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the Chirala Government hospital for postmortem. The driver of the car has been taken into custody. A case has been registered.
