Here is a column that will answer your queries on different career options

I am pursuing my third-year in BE electronics and communication. I am deeply interested in ethical hacking and network security. I would like to pursue a career in it. Can you suggest some colleges for this course? There is also an MTech programme at IIT-Guwahati called computer science-information security. Is this related to ethical hacking and/or network security? How do I get admitted to that course? Should I write GATE for that?

Some of your best options for PG programmes in cyber security include Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) with centres across the nation, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, Gujarat Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar, Cisco Academy with centres all over India, University of Madras and IITs. If you qualify the GATE exam you can apply to all these institutes. You can get details about admissions from the websites of the respective institutions.

I am a Class XII science student and my optional subject is biology. My dream is to become a doctor. But in  due course of time I realised we need to crack NEET. I find it difficult to allot time for NEET as I am concentrating on my board exams. I aim to graduate from Delhi University and then prepare for civil services. I am very confused on whether this is the right choice. Please guide me.

Since your interest is in the area of medicine, you may consider options such as biotechnology, microbiology and pharmacy. UPSC too is a great career option but is tough as you have two exams to clear and a personal interview. In case you are confused please meet a career counsellor who can test your aptitude and give you appropriate career advice.
