edX, the online learning portal is offering several courses for October. Graduates/postgraduates and those who are doing their MPhil can apply for these courses:
Design and Development of Educational Technology — The course will look into the different educational technologies and their influence on development. This is a project-based course. Classes start on October 8 (six week course).
Human Factors and Culture in Design — This course will help students create better product designs and concentrate on user-centered design for efficiency and easy user interface. Classes start October 10
Medicinal Chemistry: The Molecular Basis of Drug
Discovery — Starting with the process of drug development, approval for the drug and market value, this course will take you through social, economic, and ethical aspects of drug discovery. Classes start on October 13 for this eight week programme.
Advanced Placement Biology — This is a comprehensive course on Advanced Placement Biology which will look into the cell, its structure, its functions, cell processes on an everyday basis and genetics. Class XII students can also apply for these programmes. The course starts on October 13.
The Violent Universe — Starting October 14, this course will introduce you to the deadliest place in the universe. You will explore the mysterious parts of the galaxy, track supernovae and violent explosions. This is a seven week programme. Class XII students can also apply.
Combinatorial Mathematics — Learn how to use mathematics in computer science and financial analysis. This is a beginner level course. Principles of mathematics will be explained in an innovative way in this 10-week course which will start on October 16.
