Nz Students Set to Tour the Country For Fashion Tips

Fifteen students from NZ Fashion Tech, New Zealand, who have won Prime Minister’s Scholarships for Asia, will travel to India in November for the first stage of a unique education exchange which began in May. Their original project work, which won the scholarship will be shared with students from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Erode, TN once the collaborative learning, begins. Not only will each student’s silk garment — first seen at New Zealand Fashion Week as part of the Resene NZ Fashion Tech Colour of Fashion collection and on the pages of Apparel Magazine — be re-created, but their pattern will be gifted to the students at Bannari for ongoing learning about New Zealand design. In exchange, the Kiwi students will learn about the ancient heritage of Indian textile production first-hand.
