ASBM achieves cent per cent placements

Students of Postgraduate Diploma in Management of ASBM, Bhubaneswar, have maintained their record of achieving hundred per cent campus placement this year. Twenty-nine well known companies including ITC, Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Colgate Palmolive, Karvy, Ceasefire, Future Group, GATI, Reliance Securities, Reliance Communication, Spandana Sphoorty, Axis Bank, SBI Life Insurance, Bisleri, ICICI Securities, Vodafone, Ventura Securities, Collabera, HR Mantra, Chandan Steel, Shoppers Stop, India Infoline participated in the recruitment process and gave offer letters to students.

Graduation day

at Vidyaa Vikas College

Vidyaa Vikas College of Engineering and Technology, Tiruchengode, TN, celebrated its fourth graduation day on March 21. Eight university rank holders were honoured with special prizes. Managing Trustee and Secretary S Gunasekaran led the procession of dignitaries. Principal of the college S Sundaram welcomed the guests. Over 300 UG and PG graduates received their degrees. The Guest of Honour H Devaraj, Vice-Chairman, UGC, New Delhi, presided over the function. TO Singaravel, Correspondent and Managing Trustee of Vidyaa Vikas  Educational Institutions administered the pledge to the graduates. Managing Trustees S Gunasekaran and S Ramalingam were also present.

Tenth Graduation day at RMD Engineering College

RMD Engineering College hosted its 10th graduation day at its campus on March 22. Wearing the ceremonial graduation regalia, 665 students received their graduation certificates. RS Munirathinam, Founder-Chairman, RMK Group of institutions presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. The Chief Guest, Rajeev Mendiratta, Vice-President, Wipro Technologies Ltd, delivered the graduation day address, conferred the degrees on the graduates and gave away cash awards to 68 Anna University rank holders and college toppers, an amount totalling `27.83 lakh. In his welcome address, K Sivaram, Principal, RMD Engineering College warmly welcomed the gathering.

547 Excel students awarded

grants worth `4.69 Crore in total

Excel Group Institutions, under Sri Rengaswamy Educational Trust, have given scholarships to the tune of `4.69 Crore to 547 students this academic year. They have given 100%, 75%, 50% and 20% fee concession based on the students’ academic performance. The scholarships were distributed to the students on the institute’s Founder’s Day on March 30. N Sengottaian, Director, Excel Group Institutions welcomed the gathering and N Mathan Karthick, Vice-Chairman, presided over the Founder’s Day function. The celebration marks the birthday of its Chairman AK Natesan every year. RIT celebrates graduation day

Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology, part of the Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions, Chembarambakkam, TN, hosted its fourth Graduation Day Ceremony on March 21. Internationally acclaimed Scientist and Founder of BRAHMOS Aerospace, A Sivathanu Pillai was the Chief Guest. Dr N Ravichandan, Executive Director, Lucas TVS, was the Guest of Honour. Pillai delivered the convocation address and handed over degree certificates to 273 graduates. Five University Rank Holders were given special cash prizes. Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions, delivered the presidential address.

Conference on Nano materials held at KCG

Commemorating the World Water Day, the Centre for Material Science of the Department of Science and Humanities of KCG College of Technology, Chennai, organised a two-day national conference on “Nano materials for Environmental remediation” on March 19 and 20. Balachandran Unni Nair, Chief Scientist, CLRI, delivered the keynote address. Scientists and engineers from Anna University, Gandhigram Rural Institute, Vellore Institute of Technology and SSN College of Engineering delivered special lectures. A total of 54 research papers were presented at the conference.

KCG IET chapter bags award

The student chapter of the professional body, Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK) at KCG College of Technology, Chennai, was awarded “Most Dynamic Chapter 2014” for its vibrant technical activities in the student community. The award ceremony was held at SRM Medical Institute, Chennai, on March 22. The chapter’s “Project Challenge” was awarded “Iconic Event of the year 2014”. The chapter also bagged the “Overall Championship Trophy” for its commendable performance while competing with 45 student chapters in Tamil Nadu. S Suresh Kumar, Chairman, IET Chennai Local Network presented the awards to S Cloudin, Head of the Department, Compute Science and Engineering  and Sreekantha Kumar, Faculty Advisor, IETKCTECH, KCG College of Technology. Prakash Nayak, Chairman, IET India Power Engineers Panel, T Srinivasan, President, MEL Systems & Services Ltd and Santhosh Karnananda, Founder-Director MeraEnglish.com were also present.
