Rajiv Gandhi Group moots launching medical college

A new medical college is on the cards for the Rajiv Gandhi Group of Institution, announced it’s chairman, P Sadasivan. The veteran educator plans to establish his long cherished dream of opening a medical college. “I dreamt of a hospital way back in 1985 in Kolar, but due to certain litigations, I could not do it. Now, I have come up with one hospital and two more are planned. Once completed, it is planned to combine them and use it as a medical college,” he informs and adds that the facility will come up in another two years in Yelahanka in Bengaluru. Since 1961, P Sadasivan understood the potential of every student of his, and he has been employing all his pedagogical instincts and teaching ability in seeking to bring them to experience the power within them. A renowned educationalist, teacher and writer, he heads the Rajiv Gandhi Group of Institutions which consists of five educational and professional colleges. The institutions have been run by M Visvesvaraya Education Trust, under the chairmanship of Sadasivan.

Newcastle Univ ranked best in UK

Newcastle University is ranked among the best in the UK for student satisfaction, according to latest survey results. The National Student Survey (NSS), published on August 9, shows that 90% of students are happy with their time in Newcastle. The University scored highly in the teaching and academic support categories with 94% agreeing that staff are good at explaining things.

Fortis Healthcare organises a quiz on Psychology for students

The Department of Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences at Fortis Healthcare is organizing India’s first ever exclusive quiz competition on Psychology, named ‘PSYCH-ED’, for students from class XI & XII. Students from more than 1000 schools in India is likely to participate in this competition that will test their knowledge of Psychology and allied sciences. The entire event is conceptualized and led by Dr Samir Parikh, Director of Department Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences at Fortis Healthcare. The online registration for participating in this quiz will end on August 10.

Annamacharya Institute bags SIEMENS award

Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences (AITS), Rajampet was recently awarded with the Outstanding Institution in remote areas by Institute of BioInformatics; Computational Biology and DNA Research Centre, Hyderabad. The college was also chosen as Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Centre. SIEMENS Centre of Excellence is the latest feather to its cap. The affiliating JNT University Anantapuramu, granted Research Centre in Mechanical Engineering in 2014. The college also received MODROBS; RPS Grants from AICTE, New Delhi. Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences (AITS), Rajampet, is built upon the philosophy of providing quality technical and management education to the students of Rayalaseema region. The guiding force that propelled the college towards development and success was the vision of C Gangi Reddy, the Founder of the institution. Danfoss establishes a ‘Center of Excellence’

As part of its university engagement initiative specifically conceptualised to develop India’s talent pool for manufacturing, Danfoss, India, a Danish company, which engineers technologies for a better tomorrow, today established a Center of Excellence (CoE) at College of Engineering, here, to enable students and teachers to get hands-on experience of energy efficient technologies prevalent in the industry. The company will help students gain knowledge and acquire technical hands on experience on Danfoss products such as scroll compressor, stop valves, shut off valves, filter driers etc for hand on experience.

SA College of Engineering organises lecture on water treatment and desalination

The Department of Civil Engineering of S A College of Engineering organised a Guest Lecture on “WATER TREATMENT-DESALINATION” on August 9, third year students participated in the program. Professor Dr M Thanikachalam, felicitated the chief guest H Arulmohzivarman, Plant Manager IVRCL, with the memento.
