Hosting a Global Internship Programme for Chinese Students

Manipal Global Education Services (MaGE) of Bengaluru joint hands with Jian Qiao University and Nanchang University from China for a global internship program in Android app development. A batch of engineering students and a professor are travelling from China for a one-month internship. The students who have recently completed their third year of engineering will go through a training module which will throw light on various facets of android app development. Apart from the training, the students are being hosted at the academy’s residential campus. They will also be taken on industrial visits and exposed to Indian culture through trips to historical sites. This one-month global internship had started from the first of this month.

Indian Dentist to Speak at a Global Dental Conference

Dr A Nayeemullah Khan, working in the Department of orthodontics & dentofacial orthopaedics at Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education & Research, Faculty of Dentistry, Meenakshi Ammal Dental College & Hospital, Chennai has been invited by the ‘Global Conference- Dental and Oral Health’ International forum to deliver a keynote address on Surgery First orthognathic  (SFOA) approach for correction of facial deformities in Dubai, on August 22. Dr Khan has the distinction of being the only Indian speaker to receive this honour for this year.

Showcasing Knowledge and Skills of Tech Fraternity

An e-journal named E-Graduate was launched on the eve of 70th Independence Day by the Director of Emerald’s Degree college, Tirupati, E Giridhar. This e-journal is a monthly one, with articles on all contemporary issues related to broader areas of management, information technology, communication and current affairs, etc. Enlighting students and faculty members about the latest developments in various sectors and keeping every one abreast of knowledge is the basic intent of this e-journal. Managment of the institution have always been on the forefront to encourage students in the process of broadening their horizons. Assitant director Munirathnam; Principal Jaffer; faculty and students participated in this program.

Investiture Ceremony Celebrated at Velammal Global School

To inculcate the leadership qualities in students, a Prefect Council was formed at Velammal Global School, Mambakkam and the Investiture ceremony was held on Monday, August 15, along with the Independence day celebrations. Group Captain Prabhat Kumar was the chief guest and Wing Commander Neelam Singh was the Guest of Honor for the function. The special Guests, Gowri Sivashankar, Gokula Prasad, and Sudarshan from the VNGP Corporate made the day by motivating and encouraging the staff and students. Head Boy and Head Girl anchored the programme while Sahana of Year III delivered the welcome address.

Dhoni Comes to Give Away Eponymous Scholarship  

Lovely Professional University (LPU) instituted a cricket scholarship on the name of cricketing sensation Mahendra Singh Dhoni as part of its endeavor provide access to quality education to those with outstanding talent in the sport. Dhoni launched the scholarship during his recent visit to the LPU Jalandhar campus. The duration of these five prestigious M S Dhoni-LPU scholarships is for three years. The scholarship is meant for international level cricket players, Ranji Trophy medalists and inter-university finalists who can pursue undergraduate or post-graduate studies at the university. The scholarship includes tuition fee, residential accommodation and food charges.

Level Playing Field Necessary With Liberalisation of Legal Profession

Earlier this year, the Bar Council of India proposed draft rules on allowing foreign lawyers and foreign law firms to establish a formal, legal presence within India. The new rules proposed allowing foreign lawyers and law firms to set up offices in India after registering with the BCI and paying registration fees between $25,000 for individual lawyers and $50,000 for law firms. The Jindal Global Law School of O.P. Jindal Global University and Indiana University Maurer School of Law’s Center on the Global Legal Profession recently hosted a major public event on Opening of India’s Legal Services Sector: Examining the Current Status and Way Forward in New Delhi. The forum sought to address some critical issues surrounding the legal services sector.
