T he world we live in is not just home to humans, but many other wondrous creatures as well, and 24-year-old Robin Paul is one of the few people who understands and values this. Robin’s interest and love for animals evolved during his school days, when stunning visuals showcased on wildlife channels piqued his interest. “These channels caught my attention when I was a kid.

I was amazed by the programmes and documentaries they came up with,” says Robin. This was also his inspiration to take up wildlife photography. “When I was in college, I came across others with similar interests.

At the same time, I started working with Blue Cross and the forest department of Tamil Nadu, helping with many animal rescues and taking animal census,” says Robin. Till date, he has rescued more than 300 snakes from Chennai including venomous ones like the cobra, viper, and krait.

Robin is all for safety when it comes to dealing with snakes, “We strictly adhere to the safety protocols, which includes donning tough shoes and a snake hook for non-venomous snakes and a lot more precaution for the venomous kind,” says Robin.

Talking about day-to-day animal cruelty around us, Robin says, “We are all dependent on each other. If the animals around us disappear, humans cannot survive either.

We should respect our world with all its life.” Robin also runs an advertising fi rm called Concept Media Solution in Chennai and takes up event management, wedding photography, and documentary making. When asked about his future plans, Robin says, “Let’s see how it goes. As long as I have something to do with animals I will be happy.”
