'Golden man' Bappi Lahiri's Wife Owns More Gold!

Known for always sporting flashy gold chains, veteran Bollywood musician Bappi Lahiri's wife owns more jewellery than hubby and he owns moveable and immoveable assets worth nearly Rs 12 crores besides five cars including BMW and Audi.

According to Bapi's affidavit filed with the Election Commission, he owns 754 gram gold jewellery worth Rs 17,67,451 while his wife Chitrani has 967 gram gold ornaments worth Rs 20,74,830.

Bollywood's 'Disco King' Bappida', who is contesting Lok Sabha polls on a BJP ticket from Serampore, also owns silver ornaments and bullion of 4.62 kg worth Rs 2,20,000.

His wife has 8.9 kg silver worth Rs 3,59,600 and 3.2 diamond carats estimated to be valued at Rs 4,27,353.

The playback singer and music director best known for his songs like 'Ooh la la la' and 'I am a disco dancer', is known for his fascination with gold jewellery.

A trademark gold locket of Lord Ganesha is always seen dangling from his neck besides a number of other glittering chains and bracelets.

In 2009, he had appeared in a TV commercial for a soft drink as the 'golden man' of India.

His affidavit says he has movable assets of more than Rs 2.93 crore. His immovable assets include flat and land worth Rs 9 crore.

He also owns five cars including a BMW and Audi.
