Ruling Congress in Uttarakhand today claimed that Chief Minister Harish Rawat's model of development was far more impressive than Narendra Modi's much touted Gujarat model.

Terming the ongoing debate on Gujarat development model as "meaningless", Pradesh Congress spokesman Dhirendra Pratap said by laying the foundation stones of a record 3,000 development projects in just 32 days after being sworn in as chief minister, Harish Rawat had presented a model of development for the rest of the country to emulate.

The development schemes launched by Rawat appeal to people right from remote villages in the hills to those living in urban areas especially the youth as they express the vision of a new and strong Uttarakhand, he said.

"No other chief minister can match Harish Rawat's model of development as the record number of schemes launched by him in such a short period will begin bearing fruit when Uttarakhand will be gearing up for Assembly polls in 2017," he said.
