For girls in the age group of 16 and 25, who nurture the dream of becoming a film heroine, here is a chance.

Raj TV is hosting a new reality show titled Tamil Pesum Kadhanayagi, in which participants will be put through different rounds of tests to qualify for the role. The only big prerequisite is that the girl speak Tamil fluently.

The auditions for the preliminary round have been held in Madurai and Coimbatore so far. Ten girls will be selected from each location, including Chennai, Palakkad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Malaysia.

The shortlisted 70 girls will be given training in various skills required to become an actor, and their performance assessed.

Established directors are said to judge the top 10 contestants in the grand finale, and those who secure the top five positions will have a chance to feature in a film directed by any of the jury members. The show will be aired on Raj TV from August 18 on weekends.
