October's prime-time

The  television has a lot to offer this month. We are looking forward to season 9 of Two and a Half Men where Ashton Kutcher joins the cast. On another channel, four friends work on their bucket list. Sound interesting? There’s more:

Around the ocean: In the new travel documentary series, 'Indian Ocean with Simon Reeve', the popular TV presenter braves the horrors of the Mogadishu (known as the most dangerous place in the world) in Somalia. Described by The Daily Telegraph as “compelling and sometimes uncomfortable television,” the show makes for a great watch as he visits 16 countries like India and Indonesia. Premieres on BBC Entertainment, October 14 at 7 pm

Goodbye Sheen: With Charlie Sheen making an exit in the latest season of 'Two and a Half Men', fans are keen to see what actor Ashton Kutcher has in store. The plot has Alan Harper (Jon Cryer) starting a new life after the death of Charlie Harper (Sheen), with the help of his new best friend Walden Schmidt (Kutcher). Premieres on Star World, October 8 at 11 pm

Behind the wheel: The compelling show, 'Inside Grand Prix', gives us a peek into the high octane world of Formula One with driver and team profiles, technology updates and other trivia you wouldn’t want to miss. For instance, Michael Schumacher Schumacher gives demo laps in the legendary Mercedes W196 Silver Arrow around the Nordschleife. Premieres on Discovery Turbo, October 8 at 9 pm

The bucket list: If you seek something with a ‘feel good factor’, there’s 'The Buried Life' which has four friends travelling across North America to complete their ‘bucket lists’. For every wish they tick off their lists, they also help a stranger achieve a dream of his/her own. On VH1, Thursdays at 2 pm

Venture capitalist Peter Thiel, one of the first investors in Facebook, is searching for the next generation of entrepreneurs in the new show, '20 Under 20: Transforming Tomorrow'. The participants, who are barely out of high school, stand a chance to win a $100,000 Thiel Fellowship (grant aided by Thiel to help them fund their project). But they have to forget about college. Premieres on CNBC TV 18, tomorrow at 9.30 pm

All that glitters: Oh My Gold, the show that offers you a guide to India’s most exquisite jewellery, is back with its second season and a new host, former Miss India, Nikita Anand. It showcases the diversity of Indian jewellery by exploring jewellery in Kolkata, Chennai and Pune. Premieres on TLC, October 29, at 9 pm.
