64th National Film Awards: Neerja bags Best Hindi Feature Film, Akshay Kumar Best Actor for Rustom

For the first time online submission was opened for the country's filmmakers. 344 films were sent to the jury this year.

NEW DELHI: The 64th National Film Awards are being announced at the National Media Centre in New Delhi on Friday. Well-known film director, producer, and screenwriter Priyadarshan is the Jury Chairperson in Feature Films category.

For the first time online submission was opened for the country's filmmakers. 344 films were sent to the jury this year. 

Here are the list of the winners: 

  • Best Hindi Feature Film: Neerja

  • Best actor: Akshay Kumar for Rustom 

  • Best Actress: Surabhi for Minnaminungu (Malayalam)

  • Best Supporting Actress: Zaira Wasim for Dangal:  

  • Best Director: Rajesh Mapuska for Marathi film Ventilator

  • Best Kannada film: Reservation

  • Best Marathi Film: Dashakriya

  •  Best Gujarati Film: Wrong Side Raju

  • Best Tamil Film: Joker

  • Best Malayalam Film: Maheshinte Prathikaaram

  • Best Marathi feature film: Kaasav

  • Best film on social issues: Pink

  • Best Children's Film: Dhanak (Hindi)

  • Special Mention (Feature Film): Kadwi Hawa, Mukti Bhavan, Adil Hussain for Mukti Bhavan and Sonam Kapoor for Neerja

  • Best Non-Feature Film: Fireflies in the Abyss

  • Best Biographical/Historical reconstruction: Zikr Uss Parivash Ka

  • Best Educational Film: The Waterfalls

  • Best Investigative Film: Placebo

  • Indira Gandhi Award for best debut film goes to Alifa. 

  • Makino: Best Narration Voice-over done by the Japanese lady in Bengali. 

  • Best Short Fiction Film: Abba

  • Best Sound Recording: Kaadu Pookkunna Neram

  • Special animation film award: Hum Picture Banate Hai

  • Special Jury Award: Malayalam actor Mohanlal

  • Best costume designer: Cycle (Marathi) 

  • Best Production design: Tamil film 24

  • Best Editing: Marathi film Ventilator

  • Best re-recording: Ventilator

  • Best Female Playback Singer for Tumi Jaake Bhalobasho from film Praktan: Emaan Chakraborty

  • Best Male Playback Singer Tamil film Joker: Sundara Iyer

  • Best Music: Leeches

  • Best Action Choreography: Peter Hein for Pulimurugan

  • Best Child Artiste: Adish Praveen and two others

  • Best Non-feature Film: Malayalam documentary, Chembai: My Discovery of a Legend
