EDMONTON: Musician Meat Loaf, whose real name is Michael Lee Aday, collapsed onstage during a performance here.

The 68-year-old veteran rocker was in the middle of performing a song in front of the crowd at the Jubilee Auditorium on Thursday night when he suddenly fell to the ground, reports aceshowbiz.com.

The incident was caught in some videos taken and later shared on social media by concertgoers.

In the video clips, Meat Loaf was seen performing "I'd do anything for love (but I won't do that)" before he hit the floor.

The band immediately stopped the music and rushed to help him.

A number of other people jumped onstage as the singer lay motionless. According to witnesses, ambulances and fire trucks were seen outside the venue.

Prior to the latest collapse in Canada, Meat Loaf had cancelled shows in Moose Jaw and Calgary earlier this week due to illness.
