LONDON: It seems like people are really unhappy about Donald Trump being silent over Charlottesville issue.
Politicians, Hollywood stars from all sides have rounded on Donald Trump for failing explicitly to condemn white supremacy groups or use the term domestic terrorism after a woman was killed when a car smashed into anti-racism protesters at the weekend,according to the Guardian.
The US Department of Justice has opened a civil rights investigation into the death.
And like always JK Rowling did not hold back and slammed Trump in the most precise manner.
She was one of many celebrities to criticize the president for his silence on the disturbing scene that began Friday night on the University of Virginia campus, where ahead of Saturday’s “Unite the Right” rally, white nationalists marched with tiki-style torches.
She wrote on Twitter, “Hell of a day for the President to forget how to tweet.”
Stand-up comedian, Kumail Najiani also tweeted, “On many sides. Never forget that phrase. Three words that protected violent bigotry. On many sides.”
‘Star Trek’ veteran George Takei also voiced his opinion and wrote, “When terrorists abroad plow cars into crowds Trump condemns "radical Islam." But when it happens here, he talks of violence "on many sides.”
Oscar-winning director Adam McKay, wrote, “I condemn the battle between the Devil and the Angels on many sides.”
The clashes broke out at a "Unite the Right" protest over the decision by the local government to remove a statue of the leading Confederate general, Robert E Lee, during the American Civil War.
